  1. OSPF external routes (external LSAs) are not advertised in a stub area.
  2. OSPF inter-area and intra-area routes are advertised into the area.
  3. The default-Route is advertised into the stub area by the ABR.


STUB area configuration summary

R1(configuration-router)# area 2 stub

  • Turns on stub area networking.
  • configuration all router in the stub area as stub.
R2(configuration-router)# area 2 default-cost 10

OSPF area o is a backbone and another area. OSPF deferent area configuration needs virtual-link and OSPF and EIGRP two between routing network work in REDISTRIBUTE TO OSPF AND EIGRP (deferent routing).
